Camden-Rockport Middle School students hang artwork in downtown Camden to spark interest and change
Sixth grade students at Camden Rockport Middle School have been learning about how a changing climate is impacting what we consider the "Maine way of life."
They were tasked with creating an engaging piece of art that integrates real climate data (in the style of scientist/artist Jill Pelto) into a piece that informs others of their findings. This is the third year that sixth graders have completed this project, but this is the first year that this art has been placed around our community to share what has been learned, in the hopes of sparking interest and change.
After an introduction at the Camden Public Library, students walked around downtown Camden to appreciate the variety of artwork created. To view the students' artwork and learn more about how rising temperatures are impacting the Maine way of life, see the artwork in downtown Camden, including along the Lord Camden Inn hallway and Laugh Loud Smile Big, on Main Street.
