The Windjammer ladies put the ball in the net three times in each half, as the ability to pressure the ball on the Lincoln Academy side of the field most of the night put the Eagles on their heels trying to play defense. In the final 10 minutes or so, the Eagles did a much better job of attacking, they just could not get past the sweeper to get the shot off.
Charlotte Messer had the first two goals; one a beautiful breakaway and the second on a penalty kick from a hand ball inside the box. Emma Gutheinz scored the final goal of the first half for the 3-0 lead.
Biz Pree, who had been pounding the goal with shots the whole game, connected in the second half. Bryn Anderson scored the second goal on a breakaway that left the Lincoln Academy keeper without a chance. The last Camden Hills goal was an own goal off a Lincoln Academy player on a cross from E. Gutheinz.
Rachel Pease was in goal for the Windjammers, where she had three saves on three shots on goal. Miranda Acorn was in goal for the Eagles, and she had 13 saves on 17 shots on goal playing an excellent game. Camden Hills held the edge in corner kicks 5-1.
Camden Hills goes to 3-0 with the win while Lincoln Academy falls to 2-2.
Camden Hills will face off against Belfast tonight in a varsity double-header while Lincoln Academy will travel to Waterville today for a 3:30 p.m. game.
