Camden Hills Regional High School Girls Varsity Basketball team takes on Hampden, then Cony

The Camden Hills Girls Varsity Basketball Team was back in action Jan. 29 on their home court, playing in their final home game of the season, otherwise known as Senior Night — called that because it's the last home game for the team's seniors.
Luckily for Camden, the varsity team is graduating but two seniors this year, so expect a fairly similar team next season.
Interestingly, all three of their final games have been against teams they’ve played, and lost.
On Tuesday, Jan. 27, they got revenge against Hampden Academy, and on Jan 29, they tried their luck against Augusta's Cony High School. The last time those two faced off, Camden had lost 54-47.
The game with Cony was contested throughout, with Cony taking and making multiple 3-pointer shots and Camden mostly responding with 2-pointers. Cony’s incredible shooting, led by senior Morgan Fichthorn (who made five 3-pointers) allowed Cony to take the win, 68-55.
The Jan. 27 game with Camden Hills facing off against Hampden Academy was a rematch after last month's game during which the hosting Hampden Broncos beat the Windjammers 43-33.
Camden played at home this time, which in sports is pretty much always an advantage. Except Hampden has gone a perfect 6-0 on the road, causing some to wonder who really had the advantage.
It started out close with a first half score of 20-16, but Hampden would pull away slightly at the start of the third period, with Camden taking it back towards the end of the quarter to once again only trail by 4.
Down 26-30, Camden had to move quick with only 8 minutes to go. Lucky for them, they had a huge fourth quarter, out scoring the Broncs 18-12 to win by a final score of 44-42.
Camden’s last game of the season is at Medomak Valley February 6.
