Belfast Senior College announces Spring Semester 2025 courses
"Looking for some fun, interesting and informative classes? The seeds for Belfast Senior College’s Spring semester have been planted and soon those who are browsing the class list will find themselves in the happy dilemma of deciding which ones to pick," said the Senior College, in a news release.
Topics include history, literature, architecture, theater, climate change, astrology, drawing, boating, music and more.
Classes will be posted on February 24. Registration opens on March 5 and classes starting March 24 will be held in multiple downtown Belfast and Camden venues and via Zoom. Belfast Senior College (BSC) welcomes all who are ages 50 and over to become a member to enjoy this community of learners.
Among the nineteen classes offered, two provide the opportunity for historical reflection, several engage in arts and culture, including the music of Bob Dylan. Two literature courses will be offered via Zoom. Seven hands-on and extra interactive classes include drawing, play- writing, and guided practice in reading tarot cards and astrological charts. A final category of Personal Growth and Health includes a class on “Sound Bath Meditation.” While two-hour classes generally are held between 9:30-3:00, this semester, one class will be held from 2:30 - 4:30 and another class will run from 6:00 - 8 pm.
Once again, a Brown Bag Lunch program will be offered. The feature for the Spring Brown Bag Lunch will celebrate National Poetry Month inviting community members to attend a read a favorite poem or a poem they’ve written themselves.
Belfast Senior College is an independent and volunteer-powered nonprofit organization, now celebrating twenty-three years of programming. For the continued affordable price of $25 for a one-year membership, BSC offers year-round courses and events to nourish creativity, curiosity, and community for all those fifty and over who seek learning opportunities. Members’ spouses and partners of any age also are welcome to join.
Class tuition varies from $15 - $40 depending on length of class.
