On Friday August 8, 2025, the Camden High School (CHS) Alumni Association held its 119th Annual Alumni Banquet at the Elks Club Lodge in Rockland, Maine. There were 121 alumni and guests who attended the event with classes from 1948 to 1968.

One of the highlights of the evening program was the announcement of the recipient of the CHS Alumni Association Recognition Award. This year the 2025 Camden High School Alumni Recognition Award was presented to William R. Anderson of Camden and a member of the CHS Class of 1965. He taught at Camden Hills Regional High School for 17 years in the Special Education Department, including serving as a special education case manager as well as teaching math classes and retiring in 2022. In recognition of this award, he was presented with an engraved plaque for his service as a professional educator, a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran and community volunteer all of which, have brought recognition to Camden, the former Camden High School and its Alumni Association.

At the banquet, those Alumni members in attendance voted to approve the Resolution Authorizing the Gift of the Camden High School Alumni Association Scholarship Fund to the Five Town Community School District or Camden Hills Regional High School to administer. This Resolution will allow the CHS Alumni Association to continue its 1905 mission "to promote the greater interest in the success of Camden High School" and establish the Camden High School Scholarship Legacy Fund by authorizing the Executive Committee/Board of Directors to transfer the Scholarship Funds to the Five Town Community School District to administer. Even though the Scholarship Legacy Fund will be administered by the Five-Town School district, CHS alumnus and friends will be able to donate to the fund either through annual donations or as part of their estate planning. By their action the alumnus has assured that Camden High School’s memory and good deeds will continue to live on.

The CHS Alumni Association Board, David Ames ’63, Lynne McComiskey Bushee ’67, Elaine Alley Davis ’61, Diann Robarts Henderson ’63, Rodney Lynch ’63, Roger Moody ’61, and Pam Seekins Tibbetts ’66, hope you will mark your calendars now and plan on joining us on August 14, 2026, at the Rockland Elks Club.
