Art for the Animals, 25th Anniversary Celebration at Peace Ridge
Event Date
Saturday, July 18, 2026 - 04:00 pm to 06:00 pmFounded in 2001, Peace Ridge Sanctuary (PRS) has been dedicated to rescuing neglected and abused animals for 25 years, according to PRS, in a news release.
Currently, PRS operates four state-licensed shelters in Albion, Belfast, Brooks, and Freedom, and holds a prestigious accreditation and award from the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries, an organization that comprehensively evaluates sanctuaries for best practices and organizational integrity, according to PRS. On any given day, PRS’s shelters are home to over 600 rescued farmed animals, equines, and dogs from local and state cruelty, neglect, and other emergency situations.
In addition to running one of the largest animal sheltering and sanctuary programs on the Eastern Seaboard, PRS stewards and protects over 2,000 acres of farm and forest land for conservation and wildlife protection. PRS also has an active education and outreach program and welcomes thousands of visitors for shelter tours each year.
To celebrate 25 years of animal rescue in Maine, PRS is hosting a special benefit event for the animals. Along with getting to meet some of the PRS animals, there will be drinks, appetizers, desserts, live music, and an art auction to help raise funds for PRS’s lifesaving work.
