542 Athletes and Unified partners to compete in Special Olympics Maine Winter Games
WATERVILLE and AUBURN — The 2026 Special Olympics Maine Winter Games kick off February 25, bringing together 542 athletes, coaches, and Unified partners from across the state — joined by hundreds of volunteers who make the event possible.
"After weeks of training in Maine’s winter conditions, competitors are ready to showcase their skills in Olympic-style winter sports during this two-day celebration of ability, teamwork, and inclusion," said Special Olympics Maine, in a news release.
Delegations representing communities from every corner of Maine will compete in snowshoeing, cross country skiing, speed skating, and alpine skiing.
