2025 Climate Series begins with 'From Global to Local: Planning and Action for Climate Change'
ROCKLAND — The Rockport Conservation Commission announces the first talk in its 2025 Climate Series at the Rockport Public Library. The panel presentation entitled, "From Global to Local: Planning and Action for Climate Change” will be held in the library’s lower level on Wednesday, Feb.19, at 6 p.m. The event is free, open to the public, and refreshments will be provided.
The program will explore a multifaceted approach to addressing climate change, examining global, state, and local efforts to mitigate its impacts and adapt to its challenges. Speakers Molly Siegel, Jeff Runge, and Jenny Carter will share an overview of the latest global information on climate change, highlights from Maine’s own climate action plan, Maine Won’t Wait, as well as planning and action in our own community.
Amalia (Molly) Siegel is the Maine Climate Council Coordinator with the Governor’s Office of Policy Innovation and the Future. Jeff Runge is Professor Emeritus of Oceanography in the School of Marine Sciences at the University of Maine. Jenny Carter is the City of Rockland’s sustainability and community development coordinator.
