ROCKLAND — Following the Saturday afternoon Class D South girls basketball regional championship, in which Vinalhaven won 59-49, the team’s bus sitting at the Rockland ferry terminal was decorated to reflect the fact the Vikings are regional champions. 

The team will challenge Southern Aroostook on Saturday, March 3 at 1:05 p.m. at the Augusta Civic Center for the Class D state championship. If the Vikings win, it will be the team’s second consecutive state crown.
