WINTERPORT — After alerting the media Nov. 12 that the Waldo County Sheriff's Office was seeking information regarding a hit-and-run car versus pedestrian incident in Winterport, where a female jogger sustained injuires, a Winterport woman was summoned over the weekend.

Waldo Count y Sheriff's Deputy Merl Reed investigated the accident, which occurred Nov. 11 at approximately 1:45 p.m. on Boston Road in Winterport. A 27-year-old female from Winterport had been jogging along the side of the road when she was struck by a passing motor vehicle.

The jogger was able to describe the vehicle as being a small gray-colored car, operated by what appeared to be a younger driver with short hair. She also told him that the vehicle slowed after it hit her, but did not stop.

The jogger sustained abrasions and a fractured ankle, and was transported from the scene to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor by Winterport Ambulance.

In a press release Monday, Reed said that by using the jogger's information he was able to identify a suspect vehicle and its driver.

As a result, Rachel Curtis-Doliber, 28, also of Winterport, was issued a summons Nov. 15 for leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, class D.
