Three take out nomination papers to run for Rockport Select Board

ROCKPORT — Like other Maine municipalities, Rockport is not sure how June elections and the schedule for annual town meeting will proceed, given a pandemic; for the time being, however, it’s local government, as usual (aside from closed town office and staff working at home), and nomination papers for those appearing on ballot must be returned by 5 p.m., April 10.

So far, two Select Board members – Doug Cole and Mark Kelley – have taken out papers to reseat themselves for a second term. Also, Michelle Hannan has taken out nomination papers to be on the board, as well.

If they all return their papers, then three candidates will be vying for two seats.

But no one has returned papers, yet.

The same holds for Eric Boucher, for the Budget Committee, and Sarah Bradley Prindiville, for the SAD 28 and Five Town CSD school boards.

”It is too early to know what will happen with the election,” said Town Clerk Linda Greenlaw, on April 2.
