'Into the Wilds' exhibit, Art Walk reception, artist talk at Page Gallery
CAMDEN — Page Gallery presents "Into the Wilds," an exhibition of paintings from Sophie Cangelosi and Breehan James.
The show highlights two artists who invite viewers to share their experience of the wilderness. These artists play with interior and exterior views, painting scenes of cabins, lakes, forests, and campsites – places imbued with nostalgia and personal history. With color and careful observation, they capture moments with friends and loved ones, and tell a story of time, space and connection.
The exhibition will open with a public reception during the Camden Art Walk on Thursday, July 17, from 5 - 7 p.m., and will be on display through August 15. Cangelosi and James will talk about their work on Sunday, July 27, at 1 p.m. All events are free, open to the public, and will be held at Page Gallery, 23 Bay View Street in Camden.
The opening reception for "Into the Wilds" coincides with Camden's Art Walk on Thursday, July 17, from 5 - 7 p.m., when Bay View Street will be closed to vehicles and there will be live music by Treasure Galaxies, the Taco Joe food truck, crafting with Miss Amy from the Camden Public Library, and galleries and shops open late.
