Three new members join Board of Directors for Bartlett Woods
New members have joined the Board of Directors for Bartlett Woods Retirement Community, located at 20 Bartlett Drive in Rockland.
"We are pleased to welcome the new directors, each having former connections with Bartlett Woods," said Board President J. Michael Lane, in a news release. "Our Board members serve on a volunteer basis, assisting the Executive Director with the business of operating our nonprofit organization. As we are in our 28 th year of continuous operations, we are especially grateful to have new colleagues join us in ensuring the solid future of Bartlett Woods."
Rev. James A. Weathersby, M.Div., BCC, of Spruce Head, comes to the organization with extensive education and experience in pastoral responsibilities, psychiatric recovery services, teaching, and community leadership. He has widely spoken and written about spiritual and religious issues and needs. He has served in many capacities as chaplain, teacher, lecturer and student supervisor. He currently is Chaplain for MaineHealth Hospice at Sussman House in Rockport, ME, the first African American in this position.
Nicole Gogan Larabee, MBA, of Cushing, currently owns and operates Superior Restoration Services of Camden. She has taught at the Maine Business School and Husson University College of Business. She has been a VP of Treasury Management Sales and Government Banking at Camden National Bank. And, Nicole was the Deputy Director of Economic Development for the city of Brewer. Her community service includes acting as the Treasurer of Finding Our Voices.
Roberta Baumann, BA, of Rockland, is a fine art photographer, arts educator, and co-manager of Rockland’s Landing Gallery. She brings an international perspective to the board, having lived and studied in Germany, Kenya, and London. Her extensive background includes teaching middle school social studies, iPhone photography, as well as developing new arts programming for Baltimore County, Maryland, alongside decades of volunteer work in education, events, and development. A passionate arts advocate, Roberta also lends her expertise to local organizations, including The Center for Maine Contemporary Art (where she serves as a trustee), The Apprenticeshop, The Boardman Cottage, and other local nonprofit institutions.
According to Bartlett Woods, in a news release, the three new members complete the full roster of nine positions on the Board of Directors at Bartlett Woods. Meetings are held regularly throughout the year, on-site at the now twenty-eight-year-old nonprofit retirement community.
