Second Congregational Church of Warren welcomes new minister
The Second Congregational Church of Warren announced that it is delighted to welcome a new minister, Pastor Heidi Grueser.
Pastor Grueser, of Ohio, has dedicated the last four years to serving a Christian church in Virginia. Her most significant achievement has been promoting church growth and establishing a successful thrift store that financially supports the congregation, according to a news release from the Church.
"Guided by her faith, she has felt called to Maine," the release said. "On a personal note, she is a single mother of three daughters: two whom she fostered as infants, grew to love, and later adopted, and one older daughter who is married and resides out of state, whom she adopted from Kazakhstan as a child. Additionally, she shares her home with two lively dogs."
With more than 30 years of experience as a minister, Pastor Grueser's educational background includes a Master of Divinity, a bachelor's degree in Christian Education, a Ph.D in Biblical History, and is in the process of attaining a doctorate in Biblical History and languages.
For the past 10 years, she has taken groups on tour to visit the Holy Lands, including Turkey, Egypt, Greece, and Jordan.
In October of 2025 she did a mission trip to Israel to help in the war efforts. Before her time in Virginia, she served as a church leader in Florida, and showing her fun side, for a time she took on the role of Minnie Mouse at Walt Disney World. Additionally, she has experience as a pediatric hospital chaplain and has volunteered at Ronald McDonald Houses in Orlando and Jacksonville.
“Since I can remember, my heart has been devoted to teaching and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ," said Grueser," in the release. "Ordained since 1995, I possess an insatiable passion for studying and sharing the golden nuggets of truth with those around me. For the past 10 years, I have hosted trips to the Bible Lands, and I absolutely love to watch people experience the Bible in High Definition.”
"At Second Congregational Church of Warren, we feel incredibly fortunate and blessed to have a minister with such a diverse and rich background," the release said. "Pastor Heidi’s first Sunday in our pulpit will be on Mother’s Day, May 10, at our 10 a.m. service. Please join us in welcoming Pastor Heidi and her children."
