ROCKLAND — Award-winning singer-songwriter and saxophonist Vanessa Collier and her band will be at the Strand Theatre stage, Friday, Sept. 25, at 7:30 p.m., bringing "her powerhouse blend of blues, soul, and R&B," according to the Strand, in a news release.

Collier’s performance will showcase the music from her acclaimed album Do It My Own Way.

"Inspired by the classic Memphis sounds of Stax and Hi Records, the album features rich horn arrangements, analog warmth, and deeply personal songs that celebrate resilience, independence, and the enduring strength of women," said the news release.

A five-time Blues Music Award winner, including Contemporary Blue Female Artist of the Year in 2022, Collier has earned praise for her electrifying performances and masterful musicianship, with Blues Blast Magazine calling her “an important part of the future of the blues.”
