Patricia "Patty" L. DuBay (Maker), 72, passed away peacefully August 9, 2026, in Seaford, Delaware, six weeks after being diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer. 

Born on October 22, 1953, in Rockland, Maine, Patty was the daughter of George and Mabelle Maker. She graduated from Rockland District High School in 1972. She later married Howard Metcalf and together they raised two daughters before divorcing in 1994. 

Patty worked for the Superintendent's Offices for SAD 5 and SAD 50, as well as The Courier-Gazette. After leaving Maine, she continued her career working in several assisted living communities before retiring. 

Patty married Albert DuBay in 2006. 

Patty found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved knitting and crocheting, treasured every opportunity to return to her beloved home state of Maine, and especially enjoyed traveling with her husband after retirement. More than anything, she cherished the time she spent with her family. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mabelle Maker. 

Patty is lovingly remembered by her husband of 20 years, Albert DuBay; her daughters, Samantha Pushaw and her husband, Maynard; and Jayme Sickles and her husband, Robert; her grandchildren, Max Pushaw and his wife, Keira, and Macy Pushaw; her brother, Kip Yattaw and his wife, Emma; her sisters, Beverly Fowles and her husband, Ernie; Melissa Daggett and her husband, Brian; and Lauri Runius and her husband, Mark; her four stepchildren, Michelle, David, Jennifer, and Jessica; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss her dearly. 

In accordance with Patty's wishes, no public services will be held. Her family will honor and remember her privately.
