Robert Thomas Hinchey, obituary
WARREN — Robert “Robbie” Thomas Hinchey, of Warren, passed away peacefully in hospice care on April 27 surrounded by family.
Robbie was born June 24, 1949 at the Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Kittery. He was the third oldest of 6 siblings born to Jack and Russell Hinchey. He carried a deep connection to the Maine coast and to the Navy Base, where he spent seven years of his childhood – a place that remained close to his heart throughout his life.
Robbie’s life reflected resilience, perseverance, and personal transformation. A devoted member of the AA community, he spent many years helping others through recovery, offering guidance, encouragement, and compassion to those struggling with addiction. Helping others on their path to healing and sobriety became one of the most meaningful parts of his life.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Myriah Hinchey; his brothers John Hinchey and Patrick Hinchey; his sisters Mary MacNamee and Anne O’Flaherty.
He is predeceased by his brother Michael Hinchey.
A Celebration of Life and reception will be held Monday, June 15, 2026, at 2 p.m., at the Rockport Masonic Center, 361 Main Street, Rockport.
