On Nov 4, vote No on Question 1
PenBay Pilot recently published a Letter to the Editor urging voters to approve Question 1 on the Nov 4 ballot, in part, because passage would not make it difficult to vote absentee.
According to the letter writer, "Once the measure is passed, absentee voting will still be allowed, and it can be requested online or in person."
The ballot measure, if approved, will, in part, "prohibit requests for absentee ballots by phone or family members, (and) end ongoing absentee voter status for seniors and people with disabilities..."
Approval of Question 1 will effectively make it impossible for many senior citizens and citizens with disabilities to vote absentee by eliminating their ability to request a ballot by phone or the ability to have a family member request a ballot on their behalf.
On Nov 4, please vote No on Question 1.
