Safety sessions at Fishermen's Forum; providing first-hand accounts

Thursday, March 5
1:00 p.m. – 2:15 p.m. (Camden Room) Safety Preparedness for Fishermen
This session will feature firsthand accounts from fishermen who have experienced serious safety challenges and those who have completed safety training.
2:45 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. (Camden Room) Improving Safety for Single-handed Fishermen
This session will feature a panel of individuals who have first-hand experience with the challenges of single-handed fishing or knowledge related to training, self-rescue, electronic and non-electronic equipment, and communication.
Saturday, March 7
9:00 am – 10:15 am (Rockland Room) Navigating Safety, Stress, & Strength @ Sea
This interactive session offers fishermen practical, hands-on strategies to reduce that load while improving day-to-day safety and long-term resilience.
10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (Rockport Room) Community Readiness to Save Lives
This session will present insights from the “Community Orchestration Guide,” developed through extensive research and interviews with 16 organizations experienced in marine search, rescue, and recovery, including families who have faced losses.
