AUGUSTA — In a move to accommodate the Pine Tree Academy boys basketball team, which cannot play between sundown Feb. 14 and sundown Feb. 15, the state’s governing body for high school athletics has announced it has revised some of the basketball tournament schedule. 

Both the Vinalhaven boys and girls basketball teams will be impacted by the decision, as announced by the Maine Principal’s Association in a Monday afternoon press release. 

The Vinalhaven girls team will now play Rangeley at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, rather than Monday, Feb. 17.

Other revisions included the girls basketball game between Valley and Forest Hills being slated for Feb. 15 at 9 a.m. and the boys basketball game between Greenville and Pine Tree Academy being scheduled for Feb. 17. 

The MPA noted similar adjustments may be needed should Pine Tree Academy advance to future rounds.
