Midcoast Sports Hall of Fame names Athlete of the Year 2025 finalists






















For the 18th year, the Midcoast Sports Hall of Fame has selected 10 finalists for the organization’s 2025 student Athlete of the Year awards.
The Finalists are chosen from nominations — two boys and two girls from each school — from athletic directors at the following Midcoast high schools: Camden Hills in Rockport, Oceanside of Rockland, Medomak Valley of Waldoboro, Islesboro, North Haven, Vinalhaven, Lincoln Academy of Newcastle, Boothbay Region and Wiscasset.
The athletes must have had an outstanding year of accomplishments in their sport(s) and also shown the attributes of a person of high integrity, who demonstrates leadership and are respected by their peers as well as their coaches and fans.
The nominees are requested to send in additional information to the committee about their athletic accomplishments, involvement in communities, and reflections on the importance of sports in their lives.
The finalists are invited to attend the annual MCSHOF awards banquet on Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Rockland Elks Lodge, at which time, along with the adult inductees, they will receive their recognition and the two winners will be announced. Mariam DeLisle, a senior at Lincoln Academy, has complied an outstanding record in soccer, basketball and lacrosse. She has received KVAC Conference awards in all 3 sports as well as being Basketball team captain and MVP all 3 years and lacrosse captain and MVP during her junior year when she set scored 200 goals setting many new school records. Mariam enjoys working with younger kids and helping them advance their skill. She will be continuing her excellent career as a Lincoln Academy Eagle as a senior this year.
Britta Denny, a 2025 graduate of Camden Hills Regional High School, is currently playing D I soccer at University of Maine Orono. At Camden Hills, Britta was an exceptional lacrosse and soccer player gaining recognition and awards for her soccer skills in the Class A KVAC Conference and the Class A North Region, including being named a 2024 All Region Player and a 2024 All American.
In high school, Britta was part of the Windplanners environmental group, Interact ( Rotary Club), National Honor Society, and Seacoast United ( a club soccer team). Britta has spent many hours at The Pitch developing her skills and challenging herself against the toughest opponents she could find. For all 4 year of high school, Britta has volunteered at soccer camps sponsored by the Dutch Soccer Academy, helping young players develop their soccer skills.
Karen Higgins, a junior who recently transferred to Lincoln Academy from Boothbay Region High School, has had outstanding success in cross country and indoor and outdoor track while attending Boothbay Region her freshman and sophomore years. In 2023 & 2024, Karen led her team to the Mountain Valley Conference XC Championship both years, was 2024 MVC Champion, MVC Runner of the Year, and Class C Regional Runner-Up.
In Indoor Track, Karen excelled in the 1 mile and the 2 mile events, placing 2nd in the Class B State 2 mile and qualifying for the New Englands. In Outdoor Track, Karen qualified for the MVC and the Class C State in many running events, finishing as Runner-Up in the 800m, the 1600m, and the 3200m events. At Boothbay Region, Karen played the violin in the District 2 Orchestra Festival, the viola in at the All-State Orchestra, was a member of NHS, the Student Health Advisory Board, and the Olympia Snow Women’s Leadership Institute. Karen continues to challenge herself to achieve her best in XC, Indoor and Outdoor Track.
Aubri Hoose, a 2025 graduate of Oceanside High School, was an accomplished varsity player all four years in all three sports — soccer, basketball, and softball. Aubri received KVAC Conference Awards for each sport every year, as well as team captain and MVP her senior year in soccer and basketball.
Aubri was an outstanding member of the very successful Oceanside girls basketball team, who made it to the Class B South Regional Final all 4 years and won the Class B State Championship in 2021 & 2023. As a senior, Aubri was named a Semi-Finalist for Miss Maine Basketball and was selected as a McDonalds All Star. In addition, Aubri especially loved assisting in Unified Sports for soccer, basketball, and track.
As a senior, Aubri was student government president and Key Club president as well as Monthly Mariner Club founder and editor, all the while working two jobs outside of school. This fall , Aubri is attending Post University in Waterbury, Connecticut, to play Division 2 basketball, major in biology, and eventually attend medical school.
Kytana Williamson, a 2025 graduate of Medomak Valley, was an outstanding varsity player all four years in soccer, basketball, and softball. Kytana received numerous KVAC academic and athletic awards in all 3 sports and concluded her senior year as team captain in all 3 sports, leading the Panthers to KVAC Class B Championships in soccer and basketball, as well as Class B Softball Regional and State Championships.
In basketball, Kytana was named KVAC Player of the Year, she was a Miss Maine Basketball Semi Finalist, and a McDonalds Class B Senior All Star. A highlight of her senior season was scoring 1000 points and setting a new, all time record score for Medomak Valley girls basketball. During her high school career, she also made time to play AAU basketball and softball. In school, Kytana was a member the Olympia Snow Leaders Women Institute, National Honor Society, PAWS, assisted with the school art show and an indoor track meet, and she spend much time tutoring middle school students. This fall , Kytana is attending University of Maine Farmington and looks forward to playing basketball, and perhaps softball.
Nolan Ames, a senior at Camden Hills Regional High School, has already achieved state-wide recognition as an outstanding Class A basketball player. As a junior, Nolan received the following KVAC Class A Awards - Player of the Year, All First Defensive Team, All Conference Team, Scoring Leader and Top 5 in Assists, Rebounds & Steals.
He was the only junior named to the the following all state teams - All-State Team ( Portland Press Herald), All-State Second Team (Bangor Daily News), All-State Second Team ( 92.9 The Ticket), All-Tourney Team A North (Hoops 8 Channel 8) and Big Time Hoops All-Star Team.
Capping off his junior year, Nolan scored 1,000 points , the first time that a Windjammer achieved that milestone during his junior year. In school, Nolan was inducted into the National Honor Society as a sophomore and maintains high honor level grade. Nolan has assisted at summer basketball camps and at the YMCA in past years, and this past summer he and co-coached a basketball camp for younger players.
Zeb Foster, a 2025 graduate at Oceanside High School, was an outstanding athlete and 2 year captain in football and basketball, leading the Mariners to a football Class C North Regional Championship as a junior and to basketball Class B South Regional Championships as a sophomore and a junior. In football, Zeb gathered a number of All-Conference Awards during his career as well as Class C North Player of the Year , team MVP, and Lobster Bowl selection as a senior.
He holds a number of school records for rushing, 100+ yard gains, interceptions, and touchdowns. In basketball, Zeb receive many All-Conference awards and finished his senior year with an All-State Team Selection and being named a McDonald’s Maine All-Star. In school, Zeb was a leader who volunteered and coached with the 3rd and 4th grade programs in football and basketball. This fall, Zeb is playing football and studying business at the University of Maine.
Gabe Lash, a 2025 graduate at Medomak Valley, excelled in football, basketball and baseball, earning varsity letters all 4 years in football and basketball and for 2 years in baseball. During his freshman and sophomore years, Gabe was key to the Panthers winning the Big 11 Football Conference, and taking the Class C Northern Region Championship as a sophomore.
Gabe also led the Panthers to KVAC Class B Basketball Championships as a freshman and as a senior. In football & basketball Gabe was recognized with many conference awards , and as a senior he was chosen to play in the Maine Shrine Lobster Bowl Classic. In basketball, Gabe was named the 2025 Class B Player of the Year, a Mr. Maine Basketball Finalist, a Maine McDonald’s All-Star, and was a Maine Gatorade Player of the Year Nominee.
In school, Gabe was an active leader in the school with all 4 years on Student Council, and 2 years each in National Honor Society, PAWS, Sources of Strength, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and volunteered in many ways in his community. This fall, Gabe is attending the University of Southern Maine to study sports management and play basketball.
Grady Pease, a senior at Medomak Valley, has excelled in football, wrestling, and track & field. In football, Grady plays Kick Off and Return, Wide Receiver, and Defensive Back, for which he was named to the second team in the Big 11 Conference as a junior. Grady’s passion is wrestling, and has won a number of Tournament Championships as a sophomore and junior leading to being KVAC Champion, Regional-Runner Up, and Class B State Champion, thus qualifying for the New Englands last winter.
He has traveled out of Maine to wrestle in New York and Nebraska. In Track & Field, Grady placed second in the KVAC in shot put and 6th in a team relay. In school & his community, Grady helps with football camps, youth wrestling, and Unified Basketball. Grady is attending Medomak Valley this fall, looking to continue his success in football, wrestling, track and Unified basketball.
Adam St Cyr, a 2025 Lincoln Academy graduate, was outstanding in soccer, wrestling, and lacrosse. In soccer, Adam was part of the Eagles team that won the KVAC Championship his sophomore and junior years. In lacrosse, Adam was named to the All Conference First Team. In wrestling, Adam haas captured an number of championship titles including 2 KVAC Championships, 3 Regional titles, 1 State title, 4 All-State Awards, and one Award at the New Englands.
For the past 3 years, Adam has traveled out of Maine to wrestle in competitions in Colorado, North Dakota, and Pennsylvania. In school, Adam has volunteered in over 100 youth wrestling tournaments, serving in a variety of roles. He is the recipient of the Lincoln Academy Lowell F. Simmons Memorial Award, which recognizes excellence in athletics and citizenship. Adam has enlisted in the Air National Guard and is attending the University of Southern Maine to continue his academic and wrestling career.
