NORTH HAVEN — Melissa C. Magnant, 51, a truly special person whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone who knew her, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, February 2, 2026. She had a big heart and an incredible ability to see the good in others. Without hesitation, she offered compassion, encouragement, and understanding to all who crossed her path. Her gentle spirit and genuine care made people feel valued, supported, and deeply loved.
Melissa found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She had a deep love for cooking and baking, often expressing her affection through the meals and treats she lovingly prepared for family and friends. She had a beautiful gift for turning everyday moments into adventures, creating lasting memories wherever she went. Whether through a shared meal, a heartfelt conversation, or a spontaneous outing, Melissa made ordinary days feel extraordinary.
She leaves behind her beloved son, Kevin Garder; her granddaughter, Kora Gardner; her significant other, Robin Brown; her grandmother Janice Hardwood; her father, David Magnant and stepmother, Susan Laflin; her brother, Jason Magnant; her sister, Alyson Piscillo; as well as many cherished aunts, uncles, and friends. Each of them carries forward the light and love she so freely gave.
Melissa will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
A service to celebrate Melissa’s life will be held on Saturday, February 21, at 10:30 a.m., at United Christian Church of Lincolnville, 18 Searsmont Road, Lincolnville, Maine.
