Medomak 7th baseball wins quarterfinal, edged in Busline semifinals

The Medomak Middle School seventh grade baseball team participated in a pair of Busline League playoff games on Tuesday, June 4 and Wednesday, June 5. 

Below are statistics from both of those games as reported to our sports department. 

Medomak 9, Troy Howard 4

The fourth-seeded Riverhawks hosted fifth-seeded Troy Howard on Tuesday, June 4 for a quarterfinal contest won by the hosts 9-4. 

The Riverhawks led 6-0 after four innings before the visitors scored a run in the fifth inning and three in the sixth two make it a two-run game. Medomak responded with three in the sixth. 

Aaron Reed and Isaac Bickford pitched for Medomak while Connor Benner lead the team with three hits. Also contributing offensively for the Riverhawks were Kory Donlin and Sam Moody with two hits each, and one hit each from Kyle Smith, Reed, Bickford and Gavin Castner.

Littlefield, Dyer, Castro and Sheldon had hits for Troy Howard.

Nobleboro/Jefferson 7, Medomak 6 (8 innings) 

The fourth-seeded Riverhawks hit the road Wednesday, June 5 to challenge top-seeded Nobleboro/Jefferson in the semifinals. 

The visiting Riverhawks possessed a 5-4 advantage before the hosts tied the game in the bottom of the sixth inning. 

Smith, Gavin Castner and Sam Moody worked the mound for Medomak, while Tucker Stiles and Ivan Coffin pitched for the hosts. 

Hitting for Medomak were Donlin, Moody, Castner and Michael Sabins with one each.

Hit for Nobleboro/Jefferson were Jacob Campbell (two) and one each from Stiles, Kevin Crossley, Lucas and Alden Hunold.
