A graveside service for Marlene Mae “Bunnie” Tolman, 84, who died February 14, 2022, will be held Monday, May 23, 2022, at 2 p.m, at West Rockport Cemetery, Park Street, in Rockport.

ROCKLAND — Marlene Mae “Bunnie” Tolman, 84, died peacefully Monday, February 14, 2022, at Knox Center in Rockland.

Born in Rockland, July 8, 1937, she was the daughter of Pearly and Leola Axtell.

For over 15 years Marlene was employed at Camden Health Center in housekeeping.

She was pre-deceased by her first husband of 57 years, Arnold Raymond Tolman.

October 15, 2011, Marlene married her first sweetheart, Chester Mank in Waldoboro. Marlene and Chester enjoyed camping, and with their cat Sassy spent summers at Sennebec Campground where they would make many memories with their friend Warren “Cart” Carter. She also enjoyed spending time with her great granddaughter Sophia Tolman who spent many weekends with her. Sometimes she would write short poems and give them to her grandchildren.

At the time of her death Marlene was living at Knox Center in Rockland where she had a friendship with a stuffed cat that she truly adored.

Pre-deceased by a son, Dana Tolman in 1955, and a brother, Harold Axtell in 2017; Marlene is survived by her husband of 11 years, Chester Mank; three sons, David Tolman and his wife Delores of Rockport, Timothy Tolman, Randall Tolman all of Appleton; two very well adored granddaughters, Sierra of Levant, Mikayla of Appleton, 4 other grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a sister, Gloria Young of Rockland; and a sister-in-law, Wanda Axtell of Connecticut.
