Mark Tuckerman photography exhibit in Searsmont
Event Date
Friday, March 13, 2026 - 05:00 pm to 06:00 pmPhotographer Mark Tuckerman is showing his work at Searsmont Town Library in March with a reception being hosted on Friday, March 13, from 5 - 6 p.m.
Tuckerman was born in Providence, Rhode Island in 1952 and graduated from the University of Rhode Island. His interest in photography began as a young boy, taking photos on camping and hiking trips with his family around New England and enjoying sharing those with friends and family during Saturday night slide shows.
According to a Library news release, Tuckerman became enamored with the mountains on backpacking trips with his father along the Long Trail in Vermont's Green Mountains and by the time he became an adult was a serious "Peakbagger" completing about 1650 hikes on 4000 foot mountains. He completed many of the New England lists including the NH48, the NE67 and NE 100 as well as "The Grid". Always with a camera in hand, Tuckerman accumulated a portfolio of quality shots in the mountains and around the year 2000 came to the Maine coast, capturing the islands and shoreline of the Pine Tree State.
He is now semi-retired in Belfast and says "The Arts, the back to the earth feel, the proximity of nature have made me very happy to call this area my home."
Framed works and greeting card photos are for sale.
