Event Date
Saturday, April 18, 2026 - 01:00 pm to 03:00 pmBELFAST — Waterfall Arts invites the public to experience "Make Your Mark," an immersive and interactive exhibition transforming the Clifford Gallery into a dynamic, community-driven space inspired by street art.
Make Your Mark runs from April 18 through May 29, 2026. The opening reception will take place April 18, from 1 - 3 p.m., and is free and open to the public.
"Art in public spaces plays a vital role in shaping community and culture," said Waterfall Arts, in a news release. "While the Waterfall Arts gallery is not open around the clock like street art in an urban setting, it remains a free and welcoming space for all. Make Your Mark brings the spirit of public art indoors, encouraging visitors to engage, respond, and contribute to an evolving creative environment."
The exhibition features a range of participatory installations, including doodle walls, a wall inspired by Candy Chang’s Before I Die project, and a “sticky” communal prompt inviting visitors to share their hopes for the future. A collaboration station will provide materials for visitors to create artwork on the spot and immediately add it to the gallery walls, allowing the exhibition to grow organically over time.
"Rooted in the call-and-response nature of street art, Make Your Mark invites visitors of all ages to pause, reflect, and leave their own creative imprint—whether through drawings, messages, or small artworks," said Waterfall Arts. "As the exhibition unfolds, the gallery will continuously be transformed, highlighting the power of collective expression and shared creativity."
Program Director Amy Tingle, who conceived the exhibition, shares:
“I’ve always been drawn to street art, and when I travel, much of my photography focuses on graffiti, murals, and found art—creative expressions left in public spaces for others to encounter and engage with. I’ve been especially inspired by the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program, which shows how art can foster dialogue, build relationships, and empower communities. With that spirit in mind, this exhibition transforms our gallery into an interactive space where visitors can add artwork to the walls and respond to prompts as the show evolves.”
Executive Director Kim Fleming adds:
“Waterfall Arts exists to create space for connection, creativity, and shared experience. Make Your Mark reflects that mission by inviting everyone who walks through our doors to become part of the artwork itself. This exhibition isn’t just something to view—it’s something to build together. We’re excited to see how our community shows up, expresses themselves, and shapes the gallery over time.”
