MaineCF’s Waldo County Committee welcomes two new members
Kelsey Kobik, of Freedom, and Linnea Patterson, of Belfast, have joined the Maine Community Foundation’s (MaineCF) Waldo County Committee.
MaineCF’s county committees are made up of community members who live or work in the county and serve as local ambassadors for the foundation, sharing their knowledge and providing on-the-ground local leadership for the foundation.
Kobik works on communications, advocacy and special projects of Maine Federation of Farmers’ Markets, runs Vesper Bread and manages the Waterville Farmers’ Market. Patterson is the land conservation manager with Georges River Land Trust and is a member of the Waldo County YMCA swim team.
Other committee members include Michele Christle of Frankfort, Matthew Curtis of Unity, Ruta Kadonoff and Zach Schmesser of Belfast, Polly Shyka of Freedom, and Andrea Stark of Monroe.
The Waldo County Committee’s volunteer advisors review grant proposals for MaineCF’s Community Building Grant Program and recommend grant awards from the Waldo County Fund.
Community Building supports a broad range of projects and organizations across the state, including arts, education, environment, economic development, and human services. In 2025, the Waldo County Fund awarded 11 grants totaling $85,350, according to MaineCF, in a news release.
