ROCKPORT — Lila Adele Jackson, 10 years old of Rockport, passed away on March 17, 2021 in Boston, Massachusetts.

Born on January 25, 2011 was called to Heaven to be with Jesus. Lila was the most beautiful soul who touched our lives deeply, her smile was infectious and everyone who met her was better for it. Lila had this amazing essence that could brighten the darkest of days including these tough days ahead. Lila taught us how to truly appreciate life, to be inclusive, to love.

Lila loved people, she loved to smile and make connections. She loved to hold hands and had a special way of greeting her mom, dad, brother and grandparents. Lila would always greet dad with the biggest smile when got home from work and would say “Dah.” She had a connection with her mom that only a mother could understand, her eyes lit up for her and would always say Mumma! Lila’s mom was her rock, and gave every piece of herself to Lila. She gave Lila the best and most amazing Life. Sierra’s love for Lila was so pure, and I know Lila felt it! Her brother, Jude, cared so deeply for her and they had the most beautiful relationship. She would just stare in awe at him and reach for him. She had a special relationship with Nana and Papa, she loved to hold Papa’s finger, screech at him and she adored her nana so much. Her nana was one of her biggest supporters, caregiver and she was the world to her.

Lila had many likes, and very distinct dislikes! She loved her binky that was her number one. She loved a very specific spiny toy! She loved Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and the hotdog song! She loved flowers, to look at them and to pull them apart! Lila hated getting her hair done, she would put up a fight every time! Socks, Lila absolutely loathed socks, she would yank them off and grin the whole time about it!

We have had so many amazing people, doctors, nurses and medical professionals come into our lives that were a part of our daily life. A very special nurse, Lorraine Adams, was Lila’s nurse and so much more. Lila loved Lorraine so much and they had a beautiful connection, she was more like a grandparent and we often joked saying she was Lila’s adopted grandmother! A very special nurse, Carole Anne – she and Lila were pals, BFF’s! A very special friend at school, Mrs. Lucky – Lucky paved the way at school for Lila and gave so much to her to have an amazing experience!

The family would also like to thank Dr. Stephenson, Dr. Goldsmith and Dr. Vickerman and everyone at Penbay Peds for the amazing care they gave for Lila. We also were blessed to have some amazing physical therapists that worked with Lila, Annah Sulivan and Lisa Manley, they gave Lila strength and cared for Lila deeply. Lila had so many specialists that we saw regularly. We would like to thank Dr. Reynolds, Dr. Thiele and Heidi Pheifer, they made up Lila’s neuro team and were an amazing group to work with.

Lastly we would like to thank our amazing school community at CRES, they treated Lila like a true princess!

Lila also became very involved with activities with the Epilepsy Foundation New England, they became extended family and such an important part of our lives. Lila inspired our family to advocate and spread awareness about Epilepsy and we know she will have a lasting impact!

Lila joined her great grandparents, and Uncle Gary; and she has some beautiful angel pals she will be playing with.

She is survived by everyone who was blessed to know her, see and feel her smile and essence. Mumma, Dah, Jude, Emma, Nana, Papa, Archie will miss your beauty, holding hands, the way you would bring your hand up to be kissed, brushing your teeth and the way you greeted us with our own unique gesture! Thank you for blessing us with the best life, you filled us with so much love. Until we meet again our Dearest Lila Lou Lou.

In lieu of flowers we would ask that you make a donation in Lila’s Memory to the Epilepsy Foundation New England 650 Suffolk Street #405 Lowell, MA 01854 US; or The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Maine, 66 Mussey Rd, Scarborough, ME 04074. These two organizations were precious to Lila and our family.
