ROCKLAND — Kara Lee Brewer, 16, died unexpectedly on Dec. 5, 2015, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born Sept. 24, 1999, she was the daughter of Shawn Brewer and Danielle Benner. Kara was educated in Waldoboro schools, attending both Miller Elementary School and Medomak Middle School.

Kara was a vivacious girl who loved anything to do with fashion and beauty. She had a knack for making the world around her more beautiful by creating stunning hairstyles and applying make up to anyone who would let her. She was looking forward to achieving her goal of becoming a cosmetologist.

Family was very important to Kara. She took great joy in being with her siblings, spending time with them as often as possible. She had a big heart and would do anything she could to help others. Her mother said Kara would give the shirt off her back to help someone else. Her infectious smile could light up a room and her spunk and love of life kept her constantly on the go. She will be sadly missed by all who loved her.

Kara is survived by her mother, Danielle Benner of Rockland; her father, Shawn Brewer of Waldoboro; her siblings, Kaylie Brewer, Charity Brewer, Lily Brewer and Payton Benner; her step-siblings, Damien Brewer and Bentley Brewer; her maternal grandparents, Marcia Benner of Rockland and James Green of Damariscotta; her paternal grandparents, Linda Winchenbach of Warren and Kevin Brewer of Waldoboro; her paternal great-grandmother, Nancy Gordon of Waldoboro; her uncles and aunts, Stephen Benner and his wife, Lacey, and Donald Boyington, all of Waldoboro, Jacob West of Rockland, and Corina Boyington and Tammy Boyington, both of Waldoboro; her cousins, Landen and Jayce Benner, Kayleigh and Aaliyah Thompson, Brianna Feyler, Rhianna Morales, Correy Prock, Arthur Smith, Donny Boyington III, Meghan Boyington, Gage Boyington, and Alex and Shanelle Garceau. Kara was preceded in death by a stepsister, Aaliyah Brewer.

Family and friends are invited to visit Thursday, Dec. 17 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St. in Rockland, where a celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m.
