Juveniles charged after altercation with Rockland police

    ROCKLAND – On Thursday, July 28, at approximately 2 a.m., Rockland Police received a 911 call from a juvenile who reported they were armed with several firearms and wanted to have a confrontation with police, according to a news release by the department on its Facebook page.

    The juvenile was reportedly waiting for officers, smashing bottles in the parking lot of the Rockland Police Department.

    Rockland Police Officers made contact with multiple juveniles. An altercation ensued, during which time the juvenile who had indicated they were armed with several firearms, is known to have had access to firearms in the past, and who was yelling at officers they wanted to fight, was subdued using a Taser, police said in the release.

    Both juveniles were taken into custody without serious injury and transported to Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport for evaluation and possible detox.

    One juvenile was charged with Class D terrorizing, Class E disorderly conduct, and Class E refusing to submit to arrest or detention. The other juvenile was charged with Class E disorderly conduct and Class E refusing to submit to arrest or detention.
