Jean I. (Hamm) Howard, 91, passed away on April 6, 2026, surrounded by family. She was born in Swanville, April 2, 1935, the daughter of Cyrus and Daisy (Arbuckle) Hamm.

Jean worked all of her life to stay independent and to support her family. Most recently, she worked at Walgreens in Bucksport. She was kind to all her customers and enjoyed her days right up until her recent injury on her 91st birthday. Jean was known for her cooking and baking, which she shared with family and friends. Jean will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched with her ready smile and happy personality. 

She was predeceased by her first husband, Walter Lambert, and second husband, Stacy Howard; also her fourteen brothers and sisters, her grandson Angelo Merrithew and her beloved son-in-law, David Bowen.

She is survived by daughters Elizabeth Bowen and Mary Doyon (Raoul); grandsons Allie Bowen and Adam Merrithew; granddaughter Amy Bowen and partner David Wadsworth; great-grandsons Hunter and Chase Merrithew. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Friends and family may join together on April 15, 2026, from 4 - 6 p.m., at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave, Belfast.
