Jake Barbour named Rockland Rotary Community Person of the Year 2025
Jake Barbour has been honored as Rockland Rotary Community Person of the Year 2025 by Rockland Rotary.
Jake Barbour is president of JBI, which is a full-service earthworks contractor based in the Midcoast area. He is also the Parks and Recreation director for the City of Rockland. Barbour has done many things for the community over the years with monetary and “In Kind” assistance.
During the past year, Barbour volunteered his time, equipment, and personnel to excavate and prep the site for the Rockland Rotary All-Inclusive Playground and pavilion. He donated gravel for the pathways leading to the playground and pavilion to make it handicap accessible. At the MacDougal Park, Barbour planted trees and shrubs around the perimeter and filled in low spots to prevent “ponding”. Among other numerous commercial and municipal projects, Barbour assisted with the new beach access at Rockland Breakwater.
"Jake’s commitment to improving our community is evident by his generous contributions," said Rockland Rotary. "Rockland Rotary is proud to honor Jake with their prestigious Community Person of the Year 2025 Award."
