PORT CLYDE — Herring Gut Coastal Science Center invites the community to beat the winter chill at its Winter Open House on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This free, drop-in event is open to all ages and offers hands-on learning, exploration, and seasonal fun.

Visitors can enjoy ocean-themed arts and crafts, get up close with marine life at the touch tank, explore the greenhouse, and warm up with hot beverages throughout the day. The Open House is designed to spark curiosity about coastal science while providing a welcoming space for families and community members during the winter months, according to Herring Gut, in a news release.

No registration is required. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
