Green Party Senatorial hopeful Lisa Savage to collect signatures in Belfast

Wed, 02/12/2020 - 12:30pm

This Saturday, Feb. 15, Lisa Savage, Green candidate for U.S. Senate, will be in Belfast with a group of volunteers to collect signatures for her petition to get on the ballot this November.

Starting at the Belfast Library at 9 a.m., and then fanning out through downtown and going door-to-door, Savage will continue with the challenging task of collecting 2,000 signatures from among the 43,000 registered Greens in Maine before the ballot access deadline of March 15.

As a full-time elementary school teacher in Solon, these weekends are of vital importance in getting to the total number needed and beyond in the final four weeks of the petition period. If you're a Green who'd like to sign, or an unenrolled voter who'd like to register Green and then sign, meet at the library at 9 a.m. or let the campaign know to stop by your house by sending a note to lisa@lisaformaine.org.
