Frank Albert Mank Jr., obituary
WARREN — Frank Albert Mank Jr., 74, of Warren, Maine, passed away peacefully at home on August 11, 2025, surrounded by the comfort of his family and at the place he loved most.
Born and raised in Bath, Frank graduated from Morse High School before enlisting in the U.S. Navy, where he proudly served and had the chance to explore much of the Mediterranean. After his military service, he returned home and began a long and memorable career at Bath Iron Works as a shipfitter—and a legendary prankster—until his retirement.
Frank was known for his quick wit, his love of good conversation (especially with friends over drinks), and his deep appreciation for his wife Lorna’s exceptional cooking. He had a soft spot for the Hallmark Channel, colorful clothes, and his favorite footwear: Crocs.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lorna; his children Todd, Chad, and Shawn; his stepchildren Leila and Aaron; his grandsons Christopher, Zachary and Sebastian; his siblings Vilinda, Doris Ann, Diane, Vivian, Sandra, and Alton; and his mother, Doris Adela Mank (Wallace).
He was predeceased by his stepdaughter Angela, and his father, Frank Albert Mank Sr.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 12 to 4 p.m., at Frank’s home. This potluck gathering will reflect Frank’s laid-back and joyful spirit—Crocs and colorful clothing are highly encouraged.
In the words Frank loved to say: “Here I am ‘cuz I’m not somewhere else.”
