Film Club for Adults will meet on Monday, Oct. 5, at 6 p.m., in the Rockland Public Library's Board Room. 

"It’s like a book club but with movies," said RPL, in a news release. "Watch the selected film on your own and then join the group for a lively discussion each month. Plots, themes, characters, soundtracks, symbolism, cinematography, and more are all discussion options. From casual viewers to cinephiles, all levels of interest in film are welcome."

Participants can request the selected film through interlibrary loan or find it on various streaming services.

October's film will be the 1956 Robert Bresson film, A Man Escaped. A French Resistance fighter is sent to an infamous prison in Lyon in 1943, where 7,000 of the 12,000 prisoners housed there died either by natural means or by execution. Lt. Fontaine is certain that execution awaits him and begins planning his escape.
