Christine's Framing Gallery relocates after 25 years, realigns previous location
ROCKPORT — Christine's Framing Gallery has relocated to a new, larger and brighter space. This move marks a significant milestone in the frame shop's history and aims to enhance the customer experience while continuing to provide top-quality custom framing services, according to a news release.
Anyone looking to the owner Christine Buckley to frame exhibit work, prized family heirlooms and children's art and thrift store finds can now find Christine's Framing Gallery at 589 Commercial Street in Rockport (formerly Yankee Clipper Grooming).
"We are excited about this new chapter in Christine's Framing Gallery's journey," said Buckley. "Our new location will not only allow us to serve our loyal customers better but also attract new patrons who appreciate the art of framing. We look forward to continuing our tradition of excellence in our new location."
Christine Buckley opened her first framing shop in 1987 in Yarmouth, Maine, and went on to open shops in South Portland and Falmouth. In 2002, Buckley fell in love with Lincolnville and moved her framing business there.
"After running three busy locations for 17 years, I was ready for a simpler life," she says. "I started out with three businesses and one child and switched to three children and one business. And with all the kids are successfully through college, it was time to think about expanding the business again.”
Buckley has turned her former framing shop at 83 Elm Street in the Reny's shopping center in Camden into Camden Curated where she artfully arranges local artisans’ works, antiques and curated consignment treasures including housewares, furniture, jewelry and clothing, according to the news release.
A key feature of both Christine's Framing Gallery and Camden Curated is creative fundraising campaigns for Finding Our Voices that has raised more than $7,000 for the grassroots and Camden-based nonprofit supporting women survivors of domestic abuse. Campaigns over the past three years include selling framed art donated by artists, tickets to raffle baskets and Christmas giving trees, bake sales of yellow treats, and donating profits from specially tagged delights at Camden Curated. In September, Buckley priced hundreds of items in the Epic Estate Sale fundraiser for Finding Our Voices hosted by a generous family on Sea Street.
Buckley can usually be seen wearing the yellow that is the color of Finding Our Voices.
"Christine's Framing Gallery would like to thank its loyal customers and the community for their support over the years," said the news release. "The gallery remains committed to providing exceptional service and quality products that enhance the beauty of every piece of art."
Open Tuesday through Friday 10-5 and by appointment.
