CAMDEN — The Camden Snow Bowl will welcome riders from across New England August 29–30 as it hosts its first-ever Maine Gravity Series Enduro, marking the mountain's debut as a stop on Maine's gravity mountain bike race circuit.

The Camden event is the second stop in the three-race Maine Gravity Series, a collaboration between Camden Snow Bowl, Sugarloaf, and Mount Abram, according to a news release from the Camden Snow Bowl.

The series is to showcase some of the region's best downhill mountain bike riders while highlighting the unique character of each mountain's trail network.

Unlike traditional cross-country racing, enduro mountain bike racing challenges riders to complete multiple timed downhill stages connected by untimed climbs, the release said. Success requires not only speed and technical skill on the descents, but also endurance and strategy throughout the day.

The event welcomes intermediate through expert riders, with race categories designed to be both competitive and accessible. Riders can choose between the Enduro, the full race format featuring three timed stages, or the Enduro Lite, an approachable introduction to enduro racing that also includes three shorter timed stages.

Awards will be presented to the top male and female finishers in each applicable age category: Under 14, 14–18, 19–39, 40–49, and 50+. Competitors are also racing for overall Maine Gravity Series standings, with championship points earned across all three events.

"We're thrilled to bring this style of racing to Camden Snow Bowl for the first time and showcase all the work that has been put into the trail network this spring and summer," said Grace McMullan, Assistant Director of Camden Parks and Recreation, in the release. "We're especially grateful to our partners at Sugarloaf and Mount Abram, whose experience and guidance have helped make this event possible."

While Sugarloaf and Mount Abram are known for their lift-served gravity terrain, the Camden Snow Bowl trail network is packed with natural features, technical terrain, and creative line choices that reward precision and bike handling. Long considered one of Maine's hidden gems for mountain biking, the Camden Snow Bowl is excited to introduce its trails to a broader community of riders through the Maine Gravity Series, the release said.

Spectators are encouraged to attend throughout the weekend. Several sections of the race course offer excellent viewing opportunities where visitors can watch talented athletes navigate challenging rock gardens, roots, drops, and technical descents.

Snow Dogs will be serving food and beverages throughout both Saturday and Sunday, whileSidecountry Sports Trailside Bike Shop will be on site all weekend with mechanics available for repairs and a complimentary bike washing station for competitors.
