At the February board meeting, preliminary factors affecting the budget were under review. In particular, the board discussed declining enrollment and reduced staffing levels.
The proposed budget is $22,047,687 up $551,509, or 2.57 percent, from the current $21,496,178 budget.
"The proposed budget calls for a reduction of 7.7 FTE staff and the addition of 3.75 FTE hires among five positions (e.g. FTE PreK regular education teacher, ½ FTE Accounts Receivable position.)," according to February 25 board meeting minutes. "The proposed budget reflects an overall expense increase of 2.57% and an increase to taxpayers of 1.91% from the previous year. The average increase to both the overall budget and the taxpayers over the past 10 years has been just over 5%."
