Camden Hills girls soccer team slips in national rankings
ROCKPORT — The Camden Hills varsity girls soccer team is spending its fourth consecutive week nationally ranked as a top 25 squad, though the team slightly dropped in the rankings this week.
In the ninth edition of the USA TODAY Super 25 girls soccer rankings, the Windjammers were ranked 21st in the nation, down one placement compared to last week’s edition.
Interestingly, the Windjammers are the only team from Maine ranked.
Records listed are through games played Oct. 20. The Windjammers earned an unblemished 14-0 record during the regular season and now await the start of the playoffs as they seek to earn a fourth consecutive state championship.
The Super 25 rankings are compiled by United Soccer Coaches in coordination with USA TODAY High School Sports based on results from the current season, quality of players and strength of schedule.
The next iteration of the rankings will be released Tuesday, Oct. 29.
