Camden Hills girls soccer team ranked 22nd in the nation
ROCKPORT — In the midst of a quest for a fourth consecutive state championship, the Camden Hills girls soccer is entering its Tuesday, Oct. 8 road contest against Skowhegan with a perfect 9-0 record and as a nationally ranked squad.
In the sixth edition of the USA TODAY Super 25 girls soccer rankings, the Windjammers made its poll debut by earning recognition as the 22nd best team in the nation for games played through Sept. 29.
Through Sept. 29, the Windjammers possessed a 7-0 record.
Interestingly, the Windjammers were the only team from Maine ranked.
Other teams on the list hailed from New Jersey, Ohio, Tennessee, Massachusetts, Nevada, New York, Indiana, Vermont, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Oregon, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Washington and Kentucky.
The Super 25 rankings are compiled by United Soccer Coaches in coordination with USA TODAY High School Sports based on results from the current season, quality of players and strength of schedule.
The next iteration of the rankings will be released Tuesday, Oct. 8.
