ROCKPORT — The Camden Hills varsity girls lacrosse team collected a victory Saturday, May 22 at home against Bangor.

The host Windjammers bested the visiting Rams 17-6 to improve its record to 7-1.

“Todays game gave us the opportunity to put into place some offensive corrections that we have worked on over the last few days,” said Camden Hills head coach Wade Ward. “Bangor tested us defensively, they have some individuals that can run down hill fast.”

Scoring for Camden Hills were Anna Griebel (four goals), Sofia Mott (three goals), Grace Cody (assist), Caroline Contento (two goals, assist), Bella Ward (two assists), Alexia Cazemajou (five) goals, Ella Powers (two goals, assist), Ava Baeza (goal).

Protecting the Camden Hills goalie net was Maddie Boetsch who recorded five saves.

“We had a hard time finding a rhythm today,” said Ward. “Good mental test for the girls to focus on what they can change.”

The Windjammers will hit the road for its next contest Monday, May 24 against Erskine Academy at 4 p.m.
