BELFAST  — Heritage Park was bustling with activity Saturday afternoon as Waterfall Arts sixth annual Chalk Walk took place from 10 a.m. through 5 p.m. Artists ranged from tiny tots through to professional artists, and there was no shortage of admirers moving through the event to take in all the colorful creations.

The works of chalk art left behind are every bit as diverse as the artists who created them. One of the pieces that stood out was a tribute to the recently deceased Queen Elizabeth II, who died Sept. 8. Other pieces included a butterfly, abstract pieces, a tribute to Belfast, a frog, turtle, shark, and Forky, the sentient plastic utensil from Toy Story 4.

With rain not expected until Tuesday, according to local weather reports, the sidewalks of Heritage Park will remain colorful long enough for everyone interested to enjoy.
