BELFAST — The Belfast Area Friends Meeting (BAFM), a Quaker congregation, is now gathering in person, as well as online, on Sunday mornings at 11 a.m., at a new location – Social Capital, at 28 Spring Street in Belfast.

Visitors to the Meeting are encouraged to email in advance to ensure that there’s been no change to the schedule at Belfast@neym.org.

Masks are required for attendance in person, and full vaccination and boosters are recommended in accordance with federal CDC guidelines.

BAFM also meets for worship online on Wednesdays at 4:00pm.

The Religious Society of Friends, also referred to as Quakers, is a historically Protestant Christian set of denominations. Members are generally united by a belief in each human’s ability to experience the light within or see “that of God in every one.” The Belfast Meeting offers unprogrammed worship based on silence and inward listening to the Spirit.

The Meeting’s new location, Social Capital, is a space whose purpose is to facilitate community interaction among people in the Belfast area.
