The regular season for the Midcoast Babe Ruth League has concluded meaning it is playoff time for the local league. 

This season, the league playoffs will be a single-elimination tournament played over three consecutive days at Rockland’s Morrill Field on Friday, July 5 through Sunday, July 7. 

The quarterfinals will be held July 5, the semifinals July 6 and the league championship July 7. 

Final standings and playoff seeds, with final records in parentheses, include top-seeded Rockland Ford (9-1), second-seeded Newcastle (8-2), third-seeded Tidewater Oil (6-4), fourth-seeded Damariscotta Lions (6-4), fifth-seeded Union Farm Equipment (4-6), sixth-seeded P.G. Willey (3-7), seventh-seeded Waldoboro (3-7) and eighth-seeded Granite Coast Orthodontics (1-9). 

Tidewater Oil is the third seed based on its win over Damariscotta Lions and P.G. Willey is the sixth seed based on its win over Waldoboro. 

Following the league playoffs, no area Babe Ruth all-star teams will be formed meaning the Midcoast area will not be represented in the state all-star tournament to be played later this month. 

“A change in format coupled with an earlier commitment date led us to a league wide survey and we determined that we just did not have enough boys from the 8 teams that were willing to play to make up a team in any of the divisions,” said Midcoast Babe Ruth League president Don Shields.

Quarterfinals 
Game One: #1 Rockland Ford vs. #8 Granite Coast Orthodontics — 9:30 a.m.
Game Two: #4 Damariscotta Lions vs. #5 Union Farm Equipment — Noon
Game Three: #2 Newcastle vs. #7 Waldoboro — 2:30 p.m.
Game Four: #3 Tidewater Oil vs. #6 P.G. Willey — 5 p.m.

Semifinals
Game Five: Winner of Game One vs. Winner of Game Two — 11 a.m.
Game Six: Winner of Game Three vs. Winner of Game Four — 2 p.m.

Championship
Game Seven: Winner of Game Five vs. Winner of Game Six — 1 p.m.
