Olive Elliott, obituary
TENANTS HARBOR — Olive "Ollie" Cline Elliott, 86, died Aug. 17, 2015, at Knox Center for Long Term Care in Rockland after a long illness.
Born in Rockland on Sept. 5, 1928, she was the daughter of Ralph E. Sr. and Miriam Crockett Cline. She attended local schools and was a 1946 graduate of St. George High School. She later earned a Bachelor of Arts in education from Merrill–Palmer Institute in Detroit, Mich., and the University of Maine at Orono.
She dedicated her life to nurturing children and volunteered countless hours with many organizations.
In addition to her parents, Olive was predeceased by her beloved husband, James A. Elliott in 2001; and a sister, Miriam Linscott. She is survived by two sons, Christopher C. Elliott of Damariscotta and Robin C. Elliott of Tenants Harbor; a daughter, Lisa A. Shaw and her husband, Michael, of Meredith, N.H.; a brother, Ralph Cline Jr. and his wife, Shirley, of Spruce Head; two grandchildren, Emily Elliott of Round Pond and Megan Elliott of Hadleigh, England; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 5 at 10 a.m. at St. Peters Episcopal Church on White Street in Rockland. The Rev. Lael Sorenson will officiate. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery on Seal Harbor Road in South Thomaston.
