Rockland man accused of stealing vehicle facing multiple charges

    ROCKLAND — A 46-year-old Rockland man was arrested May 23 for allegedly stealing a vehicle in Rockland and driving it until he was apprehended by police after being involved in an incident in Waldo County.

    Rockland Police received a report May 23 of a vehicle stolen from Tillson Avenue at approximately 1:00 p.m. The vehicle was identified as a 2012 Ford F150 truck with an extended cab and a stainless steel back rack.

    Police quickly identified the suspect and issued an alert on its Facebook page, including a picture of the stolen truck, as well as notifying local, county, and state law enforcement.

    The stolen vehicle was involved in an incident in Belfast in Waldo County before being located and stopped by the Hampden Police Department, according to Rockland Police.

    Christopher Beaulieu was arrested by Hampden Police on several charges. Beaulieu faces charges in Waldo County in addition to the theft charge in Rockland.

    The Rockland Police Department thanked the Waldo County Sheriff's Office and Hampden Public Safety for their assistance with this investigation in a news release posted on its Facebook page.
