Four individuals appeared on the ballot this election cycle for a U.S. Senate seat.
Appearing on the ballot is Republican Susan Collins, the incumbent, and challengers Democrat Sara Gideon, Independent Lisa Savage and Independent Max Linn.

Gideon has served in the Maine State House of Representatives since her election in 2012, and currently serves as the House’s speaker. Gideon did not return a candidate questionnaire, despite repeated requests for its submission.
Savage is a public school educator, and previously served as vice president and chief negotiator for her local bargaining unit of the Maine Education Association, according to her campaign website. Linn is a financial planner, according to Maine Public. Linn did not return a candidate questionnaire despite repeated requests for its submission.
