Democrat Glenn “Chip” Curry and Republican Duncan Milne ran this election cycle to represent State Senate District 11 in the Maine State Legislature. 

Incumbent Erin Herbig opted not to seek reelection for the seat this year. 

The district serves the communities of Belfast, Belmont, Brooks, Burnham, Frankfort, Freedom, Islesboro, Jackson, Knox, Liberty, Lincolnville, Monroe, Montville, Morrill, Northport, Palermo, Prospect, Searsmont, Searsport, Stockton Springs, Swanville, Thorndike, Troy, Unity, Waldo, and Winterport.

Curry, according to his PenBayPilot.com candidate questionnaire, previously taught at Unity College and worked with the Governor’s children’s cabinet to strengthen community-based efforts to reduce child poverty. He presently serves as an academic advisor for adults returning to college, chairs the Waldo County advisory committee for the Maine Community Foundation and is co-chair of University of Maine at Augusta’s Professional Employee Association. 

Milne, according to his PenBayPilot.com candidate questionnaire, is a retired Marine Colonel and spent 25 years in active duty combat and non-combat leadership. Following his retirement from active service in 2011, he joined the Dixon Center for Military and Veterans Services, in 2015, to connect individuals and organizations with solutions for veterans and military families.
