Voters favor Evangelos for House District 91 seat
Incumbent Jeffrey Evangelos, an independent, was challenged this election cycle by Lowell Wallace, a Republican, in the race for State House District 91.
The district serves the communities of Friendship, part of Union, Waldoboro and Washington.
Evangelos, according to his PenBayPilot.com candidate questionnaire, worked as a public administrator before becoming Warren’s town manager, in 1976, at the age of 23. He then worked for the SAD 40 school district for 15 years and subsequently owned a small business in Waldoboro for two decades.
Wallace did not return his PenBayPilot.com candidate questionnaire, despite repeated requests for its submission. However, in a news release submitted in May to announce his candidacy, he noted he was a Reny’s store manager for 19 years in Bath, Camden and Damariscotta before retiring to assist his son’s commercial lobster business.
